Within days of realizing that a dual-site, high-profile art show would be taking place at the Art Gallery of Windsor and Artcite, I remembered Zeke Moores.

He’d been talking about his contribution to Here In My Car (the name of the art show at the AGW) two years ago, and I had been inquiring off and on every so often since then.

Zeke had been working on a piece for almost two full years (while completing other work). It is a full-scale steel replica of internationally recognized Windsor artist Iain Baxter&’s (that’s not a typo. He added the ampersand to his name legally) Ford Explorer. The piece is called SUV&. Now you know why it’s named as such.

I couldn’t believe my luck when Zeke happened to pop into Phog the same day I thought of interviewing him. We talked for five minutes.

This interview below is a speedy, and information-filled talk about the shows you should be trying to get to in the near future.

In fact, the opening is THIS FRIDAY, January 15th.

I’m a big fan of Zeke’s. Super guy. Originally from Newfoundland. You should listen.

Enjoy.
